End your August with something vibrant, joyful, and completely unique. On Friday, August 29 at 7 PM, Bryant Park hosts its annual Accordion Festival, a night dedicated to the global reach and versatility of the squeezebox.
Part of the ongoing Picnic Performances series, this free outdoor show features three standout acts, each with their own take on accordion-driven music:
La Banda Chuska, blending vintage Latin surf with psychedelic cumbia and Peruvian chicha
Santiago Jimenez Jr., a Grammy-nominated legend and a master of traditional Tex-Mex conjunto
David Wax Museum, known for fusing American roots with Mexican folk to create their signature “Mexo-Americana” sound
Whether you’re into Latin rhythms, folkloric tradition, or cross-cultural experimentation, this event delivers three sets of high-energy, genre-spanning music powered by one of the world’s most expressive instruments.
Bring a blanket and grab a spot early. Performances start at 7:00 PM and run until 10:00 PM on the Bryant Park lawn. Expect dancing, clapping, and an international celebration of sound that hits all the right notes.
