Midtown turns vibrant on Sunday, August 11, 2024, as the Dominican Day Parade brings color, pride, and celebration to 6th Avenue. Running from 12 noon to 4 PM, the parade marches north from 36th Street to 52nd Street, just blocks from Torches NYC.
Now in its 42nd year, the Dominican Day Parade honors the culture, history, and contributions of the Dominican community in New York and beyond. It’s not just a celebration, it’s also a movement. Since 2015, the organization behind the parade has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to students of Dominican descent.
Expect music, dancers, traditional dress, community leaders, and a high-energy crowd that brings out the best of NYC summer. It’s one of the city’s largest and most joyful cultural events.
